Look! Its felt on a shirt!

"Farts and Garbage for everyone!!" as she waved her magic wand across the land on her magical horse. What made the horse magical? your guess is as good as mine.

So here is the second felt shirt I have made. I took a white vneck and tye dyed it green/blue/pink (hot mess) and put the brightly colored felt on there. Everything is felt! the tiny stars were super fun to cut out. again my hands hurt. still no hand massage happening! I put glue down first and then sewed (with clear thread) the borders over everything. I didnt try to hid the thread, i like it showing (thats what she said..zing!)

 So again i have not thrown these things in the wash (ew jess) no its not that im seriously gross.. laundry is not a super priority in my life. eating, sleeping, jlr run the show. 

 This Sunday will be a photo shoot for the lady tees and I am extremely excited. Once that is complete then I can put all the new pics up and have a whole new amazing website! i looked closer at my pics on wearjlr.com and they aint so great. My sister and I had a lot of fun shooting them which is important but when your trying to sell clothes. ya gotta make the clothes look their best!

 I will have updates once that is done!

Here is a pic of the original shirt below. i used bleach and then silk screened the design myself. i am not a huge fan of diy silk screening. but i hate more is having ten of these bleached shirts in a small room. talk about your hallucinating stinky fumes!!!

Gobble gobble says the designer

I have been saying gobble gobble all day thinking someone would laugh. no one did! shesh tough crowd all 17people at the house today. yup.
 question of the day was 'hows your tshirt business?' I always reply with a positive answer because who wants to hear the sometimes crappy truth of, "very slow, do you know anyone that could buy enough shirts so i can buy an office?"  but sometimes i am honest and say 'good, sometimes tough, but good' i like that answer because its honest without over sharing and bumming someone the fuck out.  and thanksgiving isnt a time to be a bummer. its about eating, drinking, and catching up with people you havent seen in months or years.
  What are you thankful for? I am thankful for family, health, and love. Without those things you cannot in any way start a business.

Who needs to pamper their hands?

How many people can say they have blue fingers? I am so lucky to be one in a million to have blue fingers right now!  like my nails? i do them weekly, i have been doing my own nails since 4th grade. its obsessive. my older sister once said to me "if you spent as much time on your homework as you do with your nails, you would be an honor student"  its true. my nails look amazing still but the grades never picked up to honor levels. thats ok, i dont need to know division when im dying fabric and turning my hands blue. just wish i would learn to use gloves... 

 today i am working on a few things (as always) i am always balancing five spinning plates at once trying to make the day successful. I need to make new business cards! my current ones say my email.con, not .com  also, NO WEBSITE ugh get it together girl. 

  also i am working on a few shirts for my photo shoot with new styles for girls on the website! I want to add more bead work shirts which i love working with beads but man it takes a very long time.. my fingers start to begin to hurt after a few hours. my poor fingers. if i become a successful designer i want to be an asshole that no longer touches a dye packet or sewing needle. i will wear delicate lace gloves while i bark orders." I SAID 1000 BEADS ON THE COLLAR NOT 999! REDO IT" ha

 i am experimenting with some styles and using felt. i do not see felt on clothing in the stores (im sure there is a reason) im afraid the felt will shrink and ruin the shape and stitching. i will keep you posted once i wash it.  i like this shirt for all the fun colors and shapes. can you see all the shapes? including JLR?

The Blonds on cocoperez

SO if you see you fav celeb wearing a corset that looks like she ready for a sexy sword fight that she will definitely win, then she is wearing, The Blonds. This duo (thankfully actually blonde) have been paving the studded way for glamour. i fucking love it. i love shiny,glittery and somewhat dangerous clothing. I frequent cocoperez.com and today they have a video of The Blonds. I have never before seen them and after 5seconds of watching the video i fell further in love with them. they seem very nice and they are having fun with what they are doing.

  I like seeing nice designers because it gives me that boost that nice people can make it in fashion. if you walk through the fashion district (nyc) that is polluted with bitchy fashion interns and designers dripped in labels then you would be convinced you have to have a permanent scowl to be in the fashion industry. I had the honor of interning at Betsey Johnson and she is a ray of sunshine in a hurricane mess. being around her positive energy and seeing The Blonds being real and nice, THERES HOPE SUNSHINE PEOPLE! 

 so i applaud their success, and i wish i had hair like them. not the blonde, but the length and fabulousness.  click the link below

I am enjoying listening to Arcade Fire as I realize that starting a blog will showcase just how terrible a speller i trullie amz. Well the worst would be a math blog, because then people would be concerned. call my past schools and yell at teachers for their failure concerned.
 thats why i am a fashion designer. i do not like the term fashion designer for what i am doing. when i think fashion designer, Galliano and Karl Lagerfeld come to mind, not my lil self. I am an apparel designer artist.
 Apparel Designer Artist.. does not roll off the tongue but it suits me better. I really want to use this blog during the day when I think Im truly losing my mind. at night, the crazy gets constrained and put to better use. everything makes more sense at night. maybe because i can no longer see the world outside my window and i can enjoy my room/office/lab with no distractions. except the god damn facebook! Mark Zuckerberg i think you owe every person age 23-27 a clock. you made us waste so much time!
 so i will put this blog to use to show people what its like to start your own business on your own. i will be honest with my feelings and designs. I am already showcasing my art to the world which to me is the most difficult thing to do. that is more exposing then a 5 minute video of someone crying alone. (ahh bummer sentence. dont you love puppies and rainbows? double rainbows are awesome right?!)
  yeah when i say honest i mean funny honest. i cant be serious for very long. i like to make people laugh and keep a positive mind. READ THIS TAYLOR MONSEM jesus can someone tell her some jokes?! or give her a hug, ugh she is a walking bummer in every way.
 ok so here it is folks, the beginning to my blogging ways. i hope you enjoy, i really want to share my process. the ups and downs of being on your own trying to make a name and whore out some clothes.
